PTI has announced the establishment of a “Imran Khan Release Force” as KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi outlines post-Eid mobilisation preparations amid worries over the incarcerated former premier’s health.

PESHAWAR (Politico.pk) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has officially declared the formation of a “Imran Khan Release Force” as part of its renewed attempts to obtain the release of its imprisoned founder.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi made the declaration outside the Supreme Court, claiming he had been tasked with organizing a street action by the party’s founding leader.

Imran Khan, 73, has been in prison since August 2023 after being convicted in many instances following his dismissal from government via parliamentary vote in 2022. He has constantly regarded the charges against him as politically motivated.
