ISLAMABAD — On Tuesday, a district and sessions court issued arrest warrants for PTI leaders in connection with the Azadi March charges.

Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Abbas Shah heard two cases linked to the march, in which PTI founder Imran Khan and others were named. Neither of the accused appeared in court.

Due to their absence, the court issued arrest warrants for Ali Nawaz Awan, Raja Khurram Nawaz, and other individuals.

The court was unable to hear arguments on the acquittal pleas, as Judge Abbas Shah stated that he would only examine the motions in the presence of the defendants. The petitioners’ counsel said that in earlier trials, Imran Khan was acquitted despite his absence.

Kohsar Police Station has launched two complaints against Imran Khan and others.

The hearing was adjourned until April 23.
