ISLAMABAD – According to officials, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Senator Saifullah Niazi was detained by Islamabad Police on Sunday.
The cause for the PTI leader’s detention is unclear. The Islamabad police verified the arrest and said Senator Saifullah Niazi had been detained. The senator was then allegedly transferred to an undisclosed place.
This comes on the heels of the arrest of former provincial minister Mian Mahmoodur Rashid by Punjab police.
The authorities have made no public comment explaining the basis for his arrest.
