ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Asad Qaiser, the Speaker of the National Assembly, has called a session of the lower house of parliament on March 25.
The session on requisition of opposition parties has been scheduled for March 25 at 11 a.m., according to details.
On March 8, 2022, the opposition filed a demand as well as a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to parliamentary sources, a meeting must be called within 14 days following the demand.

While justifying the postponement in the National Assembly session, Speaker Asad Qaiser stated that there was no room available for requisitioning the session on March 21. “The National Assembly’s hall was unavailable after a vote was granted on January 21 for offering the space for OIC moot,” he explained, adding that “the hall will continue in use until March 23.”
He also stated that he contacted the Senate Hall on the opposition’s demand, but it was likewise unavailable. “The chairman of the CDA and the commissioner were also sought for alternative arrangements, but neither had an other location available for the National Assembly session.”
It is worth noting that the opposition is attempting to oust Khan after gathering thousands of people on a campaign alleging that he has mishandled the economy, governance, and foreign policy.
o No Pakistani prime minister has ever served his whole tenure.
The combined opposition is made up of major parties such as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) – founded by former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto – and has almost 163 seats in the lower house.
To win the no-confidence vote, a simple majority of 172 votes is required.
