LAHORE (Politico.pk) – The Punjab government on Friday denied the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request to hold a demonstration at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.

Justice Farooq Haider of the Lahore High Court denied the PTI’s appeal for permission to organize a protest. The deputy commissioner of Lahore issued a notification denying the appeal of PTI Vice President Akmal Bari and sent a report to the court.

According to the report, the PTI cannot be granted permission for the demonstration due to the current security scenario. The DC report cited recent terrorist attacks in the nation, including an attack on Bannu Cantt and the Jaffer Express, as reasons for declining the request.

The report also stated that a particular danger warning had been issued, suggesting that the Khawarij gang had trained 76 terrorists who may carry out acts of terrorism in the nation.

In light of the DC’s report, the high court denied PTI’s motion, noting that the party might contest the deputy commissioner’s judgment.
