RAWALPINDI – Former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi said on Saturday that PTI candidates should be given an equal playing field in the next general elections, calling for a halt to mass arrests of PTI officials and activists.
These words were made by Parvez Elahi, who is now being held in Adiala Jail, during a meeting with his attorneys, Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan and Chaudhry Shamshad Malhi.
Elahi’s discussion with his attorneys, according to insiders, focused on legal issues and the PTI’s electoral plan.
Commenting on the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Election Commission of Pakistan’s appeal, Parvez Elahi, the head of the PTI’s Punjab branch, said that all plots to delay the general elections have died down following the highest court’s decision.
The former CM stated that his party wants fair and timely elections in the nation, and that the campaign against PTI leaders and workers should halt.
Parvez Elahi further stated that he has developed a legal plan to run for seats in national and provincial assemblies in the next elections.
