PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) governor Shah Farman has chosen not to run in the forthcoming general elections, according to ARY News.
According to reports, Shah Farman and his family, including his sons and siblings, will not run in the forthcoming elections.
The former governor stated that he turns over his constituency to party officials. “People who actively try to bring their family into politics are conspiring against me,” he continued.
Earlier, Ameer Farzand, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was detained by police as he was leaving his office in Mardan in connection with the May 9 riots case.
According to Punjab police, 2138 people have been detained in five major cities in connection with the May 9 violence.
Police apprehended 173 suspects in two instances in Gujranwala, 438 in 14 terrorist cases in Rawalpindi, and 670 in nine terrorism cases in Sargodha.
