LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the PTI chairman’s nephew, Hassaan Khan Niazi, to appear in court by August 18 (tomorrow).

The written ruling was delivered by Justice Sultan Tanveer of the Lahore High Court in response to a plea submitted by Hassaan Niazi’s father, Hafeezullah Niazi, seeking the return of his son.

The plea has been signed by the IG Punjab Police and others. The LHC ordered in a written order that parties should provide a report on Niazi’s recuperation at the next hearing.

“If Niazi is in the custody of any party, he should be produced in court on August 18,” the court ruling stated.

Hassaan Niazi, the nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, has been added to the A-Plus list of suspects. According to police sources, the suspects in the May 9 incident were listed in the A-Plus and A categories. A Lahore police squad will travel to Quetta next week to arrest Hassaan Niazi.

After meeting the legal prerequisites, DIG Investigation Imran Kishwar would join the team to bring Niazi to justice. Niazi was turned up to the Quetta police by the Abbottabad police. The Home Department has submitted a letter requesting that Niazi be transferred to Lahore.
