ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Waleed Iqbal, the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticised the events on May 9.
Mr Iqbal told the reporters, “The military installations were attacked on May 9.” Those responsible for the vandalism should be held accountable. In this sense, an open investigation is required.”
He praised the troops for its services.
Separately, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and former KP chief minister Pervez Khattak announced his resignation from the party on Thursday.
Mr Khattak, speaking at a news conference in Islamabad, denounced the May 9 vandalism and announced his resignation from the party office.
The former KP chief minister said that he has earlier denounced the events on May 9. He said that he made the choice after “consulting with his friends.”
