LAHORE (POLITICO) – Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, instructed party members on Monday to inform the populace about the PDM’s (the government’s) “failures” in an effort to stabilise the economy of the nation.
The meeting of PTI spokespersons was presided over by the ousted premier at his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore, according to sources with knowledge of the incident.
According to reports, the PTI chairman asked adherents to intensify the “anti-inflation push” against the existing administration and to inform the populace of their shortcomings as the cause of the current economic difficulties.
Prior to it, on January 8, the former premier called a party gathering to finalise the plan for the Punjab vote of confidence.
According to sources, the PTI has been unable to agree on the issue, and because Moonis of the PML-Q is abroad, the confidence vote may now be further delayed. According to them, the PTI and PML-Q partnership has no choice than to request a vote of confidence in accordance with the governor of Punjab, Baligur Rehman.
On the other side, Sibtain Khan, the speaker of the Punjab Assembly, said on Monday that the decision to dissolve the assembly was final.
Imran Khan has not changed his mind, the PTI leader said, and he reaffirmed that the legislatures will be dissolved at the PTI chief’s signal. He said that the provincial legislatures will be dissolved after the resolution of any legal and constitutional issues.
