Sheikh Rashid, Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister, stated on Thursday that the country may hold early elections, but that Prime Minister Imran Khan would defeat the opposition’s no-confidence motion.

Sheikh Rashid, speaking at a press conference in Punjab’s capital, stated that although the opposition has the support of some government members, the PTI has the support of some political opponents’ parliamentarians.

“I want Pakistan to flourish, as well as democracy. With each passing day, the country’s position appears to be improving.”

Allies are taking their time, according to the minister, and he hopes they would choose to support Prime Minister Imran Khan.
