MULTAN – Following the events of May 9, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Malik Wasif Mazhar Raan announced on Friday that he would “take a break” from politics.

Mr Raan spoke to the media about the May 9 vandalism, stating, “Those who were involved in the riots should be brought to justice.”

He lauded the troops, stating, “The soldiers are serving and protecting the nation.”

On Thursday, PTI leader Usman Dar’s brother Amir Dar announced his decision to leave the struggling party and retire from politics.

Mr Dar, speaking at a news conference, criticised the events of May 9, saying that he was leaving politics owing to business responsibilities.

“I lost money in business because of politics.” “I have no disagreements with any institution,” he continued.”

“It is up to Usman Dar and Asad Dar to stay or leave the party,” Mr Dar said of his brothers’ political destiny.
