The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has received no directives to reinstate social media, according to a PTA official on Saturday.

The PTA representative confirmed that mobile internet connections had been restored throughout the nation, but that no directives had been received to reinstate social media networks.

Previously, on May 9, the government banned mobile internet access across the nation, as well as the usage of social media sites such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
