ISLAMABAD – On Sunday, Anwaarul Haq Kakar took the oath necessary to become the ninth interim prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
During a brief ceremony at the President House in the nation’s capital, President Arif Alvi swore in the acting prime minister.
Shehbaz Sharif, a former prime minister who was also present at the occasion, welcomed the recently chosen temporary premier.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, speaker of the National Assembly, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, governors of Sindh and Punjab, Kamran Tessori and Balighur Rehman, PTI Senator Shehbaz Waseem, and Faisal Karim Kundi, among others, were present at the event.
