ISLAMABAD (POLITICO.PK) – The deputy commissioner is not authorized to issue detention orders under 3MPO, according to the Islambad High Court (IHC).
After taking the petitioners’ arguments, Justice Babar Sattar declared the reserved ruling in the case involving PTI leaders Sheryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar’s imprisonment under 3MPO.
The judge ruled that only the federal cabinet should have the power to issue detention orders under 3 MPOs, and that the deputy commissioner in Islamabad lacked that jurisdiction.
The two PTI leaders’ plea was dismissed by the IHC.
