ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Thursday that the PPP wants the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to provide an accurate date for holding general elections in a transparent way.
In an interview with a private news station, he stated that political parties had reached an agreement to complete the census and delimitation process so that the next elections could be held properly.
“We have asked ECP to organize free and fair elections without delay,” he stated.
In response to a question regarding ambiguity in the general elections, he stated that his party expects the electoral commission to publish a time frame and specific date so that we may participate in the elections fully prepared and without ambiguity.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) created a legal team yesterday to dispute the new boundaries.
According to reports, a legal team led by the president of the PLF would oppose the new restrictions.
On Wednesday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released a preliminary list of new delimitations ahead of the 2019 elections.

The tentative list of new delimitations based on the 2023 digital census data was agreed by the chief electoral commissioner (CEC) and ECP members yesterday.
