LAHORE — Following a meeting with Co-Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari, several “important personalities” expressed their willingness to join the People’s Party (PPP).
Mustansar Jabbar Manj of Gujranwala and Chaudhry Rizwan of Sheikhupura have declared their desire to join the PPP.
Manj and Rizwan were welcomed into the PPP by former President Zardari.
The meeting was attended by Mian Nauman Yusuf, Afnan Sadiq Lone, Faisal Mir, and Rana Farooq Saeed, the acting president of the PPP Central Punjab.
Later, former District Council member Layyah joined the PPP, as did former MNA Sardar Ghulam Fareed Mirani, union council chairman Hashim Khan, Amir Muhammad Khan, and Syed Mehdi Hussain Gilani, son of former MPA Syed Fazal Gilani.

Despite being released on bond in a corruption case, Parvez Elahi was detained again.
The court has reserved its decision on Parvez Elahi’s physical remand in corruption charges.
