ATTOCK – The former prime minister and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has chosen not to transfer from Attock prison to Adiala Jail.
Sources claim that the PTI leader told the judge that he did not want to be transferred from Attock to Adiala Jail. “I have adjusted myself in Attock Jail,” the former prime minister remarked. “I will ask my lawyers to withdraw the application for shifting to Adial Jail.”
Aamer Farooq, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, had earlier directed the relevant authorities to transfer the PTI chairman from Attock to Adiala Jail.
The former prime minister’s attorneys requested that he be moved from the Attock to Adiala Jail in a petition that was considered by the court.
The PTI chairman’s sentence, according to the top justice, has changed status. The court questioned why the PTI leader was still in Attock when all of Islamabad’s detainees who were awaiting trial were housed in Adiala Jail.
Will the PTI leader’s trial begin in Rahim Yar Khan jail, the court questioned Additional Attorney General Mansoor Iqbal Dogal.
The PTI chairman was sent to Adiala Jail by the CJ’s instruction to the authorities. The attorney asked the court to supply the PTI chairman with an exercise machine throughout the hearing because he was an athlete. According to the CJ’s assertion, no right should be infringed upon and facilities should be provided to him in accordance with his entitlement.
