LAHORE – Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, a former chief minister of Punjab, was detained once more after being released from the Adiala jail, and his transit remand was allowed.

Parvez Elahi was taken into custody and then freed from the Adiala Jail, only to be taken into custody by NAB Rawalpindi right away. He was subsequently brought before Magistrate Khalid Hayat at the Judicial Complex of Rawalpindi, where NAB asked for his continued detention.

The transit remand of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was later allowed by the duty magistrate Khalid Hayat after he had given the reasons some thought. After then, he was returned to Lahore by the NAB team.

On July 19, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was moved from Camp Jail Lahore to Adiala Jail for a 30-day confinement. He has been told to be detained under the MPO by Deputy Commissioner Lahore. NAB Lahore is presently looking into the PTI president for possible financial irregularities and contract kickbacks.

His assets will also be looked at to see if they surpass his income as well as other cases as part of the probe.
