LAHORE – As PTI dissatisfied leader Jahangir Tareen finds political traction after major PTI defections, a name for his highly awaited political party was disclosed on Wednesday, according to sources.

According to sources, the name of his party would be “Pakistan Istehkam Party (PIP)”.

He became the talk of the town when the PTI suffered major defections on both the national and provincial levels, undermining the party’s political clout in the country.

Earlier, Mr Tareen seemed to have won a huge success when PTI deserter Murad Raas joined his party. Mr Raas approached Mr Tareen, who was joined by Abdul Aleem Khan and Awn Chaudhry. Mr Rass, along with other lawmakers including as Hashim Dogar, had left the PTI.

Three members of the PTI’s “Hashim Dogar group,” including Raja Yawar Kamal, Mamoon Tarar, and Rai Aslam, joined Mr Tareen’s political camp only a day earlier.

Mr Tareen organised a three-member team, which included Awn Chaudhry, Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, and Ishaq Khakwani, to recruit defectors as he prepares to start a new political party.

The group planned to contact key KP individuals including as former party president Parvez Khattak and others. Mr Tareen has previously met with former PTI senior vice presidents Fawad Chaudhry and Firdous Ashiq Awan.
