PESHAWAR — On Wednesday, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) granted the release of PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan, who had been detained under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

A two-member bench comprised of Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Syed Muhammad Atiq Shah announced the judgement it had reserved earlier and granted his release in exchange for Rs100,000 in surety bonds.

Court, on the other hand, accepted the pleas of those held under the 3MPO.

Mr Khan had already been re-arrested from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

“Ali Muhammad Khan has been released following the completion of his detention period,” the jail management said. Ali Muhammad has been granted bail by the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC).”
