LAHORE – Former President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chairman Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain met on Friday to discuss the country’s current situation.

Mr Hussain paid a visit to Mr Zardari at his house, during which both leaders emphasised issues concerning the nation.

Mr Hussain’s health was questioned about by the previous president. Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, Chaudhry Sarwar, and PML-Q Sindh President Tariq Hasan were also present at the meeting.

The PML-Q recommended holding an All Parties Conference (APC) meeting on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the PML-Q aims to talk with the nation’s political leadership to pull the country out of its current dilemma.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) naib emir Liaquat Baloch met with PML-Q supremo Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Monday.

During the discussion, Mr Hussain recognised the gravity of the events of May 9, but highlighted that condemnation is insufficient. He urged all lawmakers to unite, emphasising the need of joint effort in addressing the country’s difficulties.

Mr Baloch emphasised that the grave conditions of inflation and unemployment have made it more difficult for individuals to maintain their lives.

He highlighted his conviction that discourse is the key to overcoming these challenges, noting that open dialogues may successfully address any concerns.

Furthermore, he emphasised the necessity of having elections on time, adding that political stability can only be attained if elections are held on time.
