ISLAMABAD – At a press conference on Tuesday, PTI stalwart Shireen Mazari announced her retirement from politics in a significant move in the nation’s politics.
She also denounced the violence that broke out on May 9 of last year after Imran Khan’s detention. She said that her family came first.
Liberty eluded us.
Soon after being released by the court, PTI leader Shireen Mazari was detained for the sixth time outside the Kharian judicial magistrate’s court.
The Gujrat police detained the PTI leader shortly after she was let out of Adiala Jail on Monday. On May 11 in Kharian, a complaint was filed against her, and she was thereafter taken into custody. She is charged with instigating the people and participating in a protest rally against Pakistan on May 10 in Kharian.
On Tuesday, Dr. Mazari was brought before Judicial Magistrate Akhtar Ali. According to Dr. Mazari’s attorney, she did not participate in the demonstration and had never previously seen Kharian. The magistrate issued an order for Dr. Mazari’s immediate release after hearing the arguments.
The PTI leader is seen being hauled away on the court grounds by unidentified personnel in an unmarked car in a footage that became public following her release.
