LAHORE – Imran Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Saturday that he is prepared to forgive everyone for the benefit of the nation, even the perpetrators who were engaged in and coordinated the Wazirabad incident in November last year.

Addressing his party supporters on the campaign for the upcoming Punjab elections via video link from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore, the deposed premier lauded PTI stalwarts for contributing to the court arrest drive and said the party’s leaders were treated like terrorists in jail, and the incumbent rulers lodged fake cases against workers to harass them.

He further said that the governing PDM has filed 74 charges against him, and that the PTI would never bow to the government.

The PTI president said that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had plotted another murder attempt on him months before, during his party’s lengthy march in Wazirabad.

“Both had hampered the investigating process in the case of my assassination attempt because they were terrified of my return to power,” Mr Imran stated.

“We sacrificed our administrations in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while keeping the Constitution in mind since lawyers warned us that elections could not be postponed for more than 90 days,” he remarked, giving the court of his complete support.

He maintained that a snap election in the nation was the only option to get the country out of its quagmire, as the incoming administration could prevent the economic disaster via the trust of the people.

Recalling his government’s accomplishments, he stated that during the pandemic, Pakistan’s growth rate clocked in at 6 percent despite the global inflation cycle, but that today, due to failed policies of the Shehbaz-led government, industries are closing down and skyrocketing inflation is crushing the masses more than ever. Imran also cautioned the public that fuel costs will continue to climb at an unprecedented rate.

“NAB collected Rs480 billion during PTI’s time; NAB needed to recover 1100 billion more, but the PDM changed NAB regulations to suit themselves,” Imran stated.

“I will begin distributing party tickets for the forthcoming elections in two weeks, and I will issue the tickets personally after evaluating candidates since in the past elections, our party saw turncoats who went against the party’s philosophy,” stated the PTI chairman.

“I am willing to speak to everyone, I know who was involved in the assassination assault, I am ready to forgive the attacker, Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in jail, when he got out, he forgave everyone, now Pakistan is suffering economic troubles, everyone will have to join together,” Imran Khan stated.
