KARACHI – On the instruction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been renotified to serve as the federal minister for law and justice.

A notification to that effect has been released by the Cabinet Division.

In October, Mr. Tarar, the law minister, resigned for “personal reasons,” and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was named in his stead. On the other hand, Tarar was urged to remain the law minister on Tuesday by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who also said that he would not accept Tarar’s resignation.

Several federal officials, including Minister of the Interior Rana Sanaullah, Minister of Information Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of Economic Affairs Ayaz Sadiq, and Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, visited Mr. Tarar’s house in the federal capital to deliver the PM’s message.
