LAHORE: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said on Thursday that early elections could be held in the country.
Addressing a press conference after a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar here, he hit out at turncoats saying those members of the National Assembly who switch loyalties won’t get any respect.
“Those switching allegiances should be aware that the country may hold early elections,” the minister cautioned. “It’s been reported that Usman Buzdar is stepping down. There isn’t a single person who is willing to leave. Buzdar is also a rock for Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he continued.
He claimed that while the opposition had the support of unhappy PTI legislators, the government also has certain opposition MNAs.
