Ejaz Chaudhary, the leader of the PTI, is challenging the Lahore High Court judgment and requesting that his sentence be suspended by the Supreme Court.
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ejaz Chaudhary has petitioned the Supreme Court for the stay of his sentence, challenging the Lahore High Court’s April 28 judgment.
In his plea to the Supreme Court, Chaudhary urged that the trial court’s August 11, 2025 ruling be halted and the Lahore High Court verdict be overturned.
The petitioner claimed that he has no prior criminal history and that his name was added to the case afterward. According to the petition, the prosecution’s case is based on claims about meetings and a plot in Zaman Park.
According to the petition, both prosecution witnesses are government officials, and the Lahore High Court has already stayed the sentencing of another accused in the same case. It contended that Chaudhary was likewise entitled to similar remedy.
Chaudhary further alleged that he was convicted in another case lodged at Sarwar Road Police Station in Lahore over the same event, and that procedures in two distinct cases over the same occurrence are illegal.
The petition was filed against the punishment imposed in a case lodged at Shadman Police Station.
