LAHORE – Imran Khan, the PTI chairman and former prime minister, has given key duties to party officials in relation to the vote of confidence that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi must seek by January 11th.
According to sources, Imran Khan has given duties to Sibtain Khan, the speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Usman Buzdar, the former chief minister of Punjab, Aslam Iqbal, Mahmoodur Rashid, and Abbas Alamdar. The PTI head requested that the party leaders expedite the process of contacting the assembly members so that a vote of confidence could be conducted by January 11th. Following the vote of confidence, further actions would be performed in accordance with the party’s choice.
During the PA session scheduled for January 9, according to Mr. Khan, the process of contacting MPAs should be finished.
Currently, three members won’t be voting in the vote of confidence, and it’s possible that these three members may defy party rules, according to PTI sources.
