KARACHI – Imran Khan, a former prime minister and the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was de-notified as an MNA from NA-95 by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday.

It is important to note that the ECP removed PTI Chairman Imran Khan from office in the Tosha Khana case and declared the seat in which he was born vacant.
The ECP declared the PTI chairmanship vacant while de-notifying the former PM.

In contrast, the ECP chose not to announce Imran Khan’s win in six seats at the meeting presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja because it had not provided information on the election expenditures related to the by-election.

Imran Khan, on the other hand, was also given the go-ahead by the Commission to run in the NA-45 Kurram by-election. The announcements of the four returning candidates have also been made in the interim.

It has been announced that Abdul Hakeem Baloch of the PPP won the NA-237 Malir seat, Iftikhar Bhangu of the PML-N won the PP-139 Sheikhupura seat, Faisal Niazi of the PTI won the PP-209 Khanewal seat, and Malik Muzaffar of the PTI won the PP-241 Bahawalnagar seat.
